Body Building Stretch Marks

Bodybuilding is an activity that should lead to you a fitter, healthier and physically appealing body. However, while it may allow you to build muscles, it may also lead to undesirable side effects, and one of these side effects is stretch marks.

Understanding The First Signs

As you work out and your muscles grow weight lifters and body builders may notice their skin becoming either red or even purple. When people initially notice this they wrongfully assume it is because of either sweat or the strain of the workout. However, this is not the case. Before long they notice that these marks have not gone away and in some cases may, in fact, be getting worse. A common myth is that men don’t get them at all which is why it is often hard for men to believe that these red marks are actually scars on the skin.

Why They Occur In Weight Trainers

As weight trainers put great strain and exertion on their bodies the skin will have a limit to the point that it can be stretched. While stretch marks can be a problem for teenagers and pregnant women it is extremely common among bodybuilders for this very reason. They can become even more of a concern for men and women who are actively competing in competitions.

Working out excessively while not caring for the skin can lead to tears which can lead to their appearance. First off, there are a number of creams which can be used to both avoid and treat them. These creams have ingredients which will penetrate the sites at which the skin has been damaged, and once they have reached the second layer of the skin they will begin to repair it

Before making a purchase I would advise that you research them carefully to make sure they are truly effective. Bodybuilders also tend to be more self conscious about their bodies compared to others, especially with the exercises they perform and particularly when competing.

One of the best and most cost effective ways of handling them is simply to cover them up. You can cover them up with clothes, stockings or you may also have the option of using make-up to cover them. While most of us want to get rid of them permanently there are times when they will simply need to be concealed.

If you’ve use make-up that is not water proof it will run or rub off as soon as you start sweating. To avoid this, I urge you to purchase a stretch mark make-up solution that is resistant to water.

I have stretch marks on my arms from building muscle too quickly, in a weird way I’m kinda proud of them but I’d still like to fade them.
